Oct 29th
well i got ther Monday at first light
it was raining but that was not going to stop me
I started at One The Way nothing doing there
took a quick lookat the cannal
waste of time
then hit the mid river at a spot i have never fished before
5 guys there
one landed a nice hatch Coho
another guy hooked a huge spring that just kept leaping out of the water on its way down river then snap it was gone
must have been 40+
I hit nothing there so hiked down river a bit
first cast and my float goes down(had a blade on) fish on
few head shakes then off it goes to the fast water
fish off blade gone
after a few more casts and no takers i moved down a bit more to find 4 guys fishing this nice run
so i joined them at the tail end as i could not get in at the top
they were nailing Chums on blades
so i started casting and after about an hour nothing
then i realised that the fish were in a hole that only these guys could get at and i was beyond it
well one of the guys decide to move and the guy next to me moved up so i followed
next cast fish on after that it was a bit speradic as the fish were moving through just staying at the hole for a short time
lost count on how many i hooked
and only snagged two
i changed to wool after a while(well lost two blades)
and it worked just a well
recklessme your spot was not fishable today
not one pearson at the cannal
the river was rising all day
visibility was quite good even with the rain
Think i will hit it again Wed
anyone else heading out there Wed
sorry no pics today forgot camera
funniest thing today two guys joined me later in the day
every one else had left
they had halibut rods with coffee griders and they were using rocks a weights
every cast(wich was funny to see)they got snagged up
then when they saw me release my fish one of them asked why are you letting them go
i replied i am just fishing for the sport
he just gave me a funny look
saying that i should have kept the last doe she was huge
would of had tons of eggs
but still dont have anywhere to dry them
