Jet boats SUCK fuel. As for running one in the salt water, the main issue people have is the ride quality in rougher water due to the flat bottom.

They talked lots about jets in the ocean on this site. http://www.sportfishingbc.com/forum/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=7876

First off Jet boats are PIGS on fuel.
Second, they ride VERY VERY rough.

I have a 19' Thunderjet and I would never take it into the chuck, I would need a month of massage therapy to recuperate from the trip, and the Thunderjet is one of the better riding boats.

I think the North River SeaHawk is a deep V jet boat... Looks like a very nice machine

thank you Dan, Rp, and San.

i better not to buy a jet boat, because i would use it 60% ocean and 40% fraser.
fuel economy is the most concern for me.
very helpful infos for my decision.
