Enjoy an evening listening, talking, eating and finding out about the many milestones the Seymour Salmonid Society has made this past year. Meet our Directors and Staff, as well as other conservation minded people like yourself.
Our Keynote speaker will be...
Cedar Chittenden, a graduate student at UBC who is studying issues related to salmonid migration and survival. This year she and the Society conducted a POST (Pacific Ocean Shelf Tracking) study on hatchery coho smolts from the Seymour. We tagged several of our fish with sonar tags and their locations/tracking will be picked up from listening lines established on the BC Coast.
Also speaking will be...
Sandie Hollick-Kenyon, Fisheries and Oceans Canada: Community Advisor.
and...
Stephen Vincent, Vice President of the Seymour Salmonid Society. Stephen will be talking about our radio tracking studies done on the Seymour River.
Everyone is welcome to attend our Annual General Meeting. There will be opportunities to renew your memberships and talk with the Board members. Meet other people who also care about the Seymour. Come and learn what the Society is doing in the areas of education and restoration on the Seymour River.
Light refreshments will be served.
