Great day out there today. One of the best so far this season.
The temperature was up and the bite was ON!
First time in over a week I didn't have to flick ice of my line guides.
Was able to drag a friend out and actually get some pics which is a big bonus for
me as i fish alone 99% of the time and am unable to get fish pics.
I was still pumped with adrenaline after landing my biggest of the season to end the day
yesterday. (approx. 18-20lb wild buck). So the 7am start wasn't an issue today.
Started in the lower with 2 on, 0 landed. Both short but sweet.
Moved to mid river with more success.
Ended up with 5 fish on and 3 to shore between the two of us. All 3 wild.
3 fish on Jensen/Wool combo. 2 on pink worms.
The "fish it fast, fish it last" motto paid off with the worms.
After going through the pool with no takers on the jensen, the worm was smashed
on first and second casts.
Fishing was good, weather was good, and the crowd was light.
After dealing with a few days of unbelievably bad etiquette, I needed a day like today.
15 minute battle, 2 long runs, and 3 minute standstill where he didn't budgemy buddy's first steelie!
