Bushing bearing on an islander!
I was talking to a guy on the river to day. He had an islander center pin reel he used for a year, and did not like the ball bearings. He took it in, and had a bushing bearing installed and likes it a lot better. I was wondering how common this is, and were could you get this done?

You might try Mike's Reel Repairs.

you can also install ceramic bearings, they run way smother then any other type.
Standard bearing in the Islander CP is a ABEC 3, you can up grade to a ABEC 7 with them (Islander Reels) or other shops.

If I got an Islander CP I would install the ceramic ball bearings, just my opinion though.
