I live about a block away from lafarge lake and never fishied the lake. I am always wondering about the water quality and if the fish are safe to eat.  :-\

I would think that if the water quality was poor DFO wouldn't be stocking the lake.

DFO isn't stocking the lake.  That's done by the FFSBC... :D

The fish are raised by hatchery and fed with fish meals. They are just put in the lake for a short while for people to catch and eat. I don't think the lake is that toxic to make the fish not edible in a short time. Relax, enjoy some nice trouts.

Prior to stockings by the Fraser Valley Trout Hatchery, all lakes are tested by biologists at Ministry of Environment.

I went to Lafage Lake yesterday (April 27, 2008) and i was able to hook into atleast 20 rainbows by fly fishing on the shore ;D. If you are looking for a place to catch some bows, Lafarge Lake is great!

Was there last night , caught a bunch. One even fought like a real fish and jumped 4ft out the water twice !!! Oh boy  ;D

I kept that one and brought it home. I had left the trout in my net, outside in my carport for 15min while I cleaned up and put my gear away. When I returned i found my net empty and lying on the ground  >:(

Our neighborhood raccoon stole the trout !!!!!!!!!!

Nice meal for a Ditchmond raccoon they don't see trout too often. :D

That is a nice catch Steelhead nick. Congrats. Have you seen others catching them? I saw one guy with 3 fish a few days ago but most people got none.
