Recommendations for a light/ultra light spinning reel
« on: June 15, 2008, 10:39:02 PM »

I'm looking for a light/ultra light spinning reel. Anyone here have any recommedations? I'll definately need one with instant anti-reverse and one that is solid, quiet, smooth, and totally reliable.

I have two Shimano's I use for trout I use the Symetre 750 and for coho I use the 2500 Symetre same body as the 1500 but larger line capacity.

I love them both and would reccomend them to anyone. If you feel like spending some big bucks check out Shimano's Stella  ;D

I had a Shimano Symetre 4000 and I didn't like it that much.  I ended up selling it to a user on this site. It wasn't all that smooth even with the double padded handles considering I paid 150 dollars for it.

Shimano is a good bet.  If you can, come down to the States to buy one.  Doesn't matter what you buy there, it's all crazy expensive.
