Vedder River Report July 25th 2008
« on: July 25, 2008, 08:25:16 PM »

Decided to try the Vedder again today. Instead of fishing the bottom, we thought we try the upper river for some action.

My youngest boy and nephew decided to tag along this time.

Fishing was really good as we were able to hook into quite a few springs. As we were using roe, we did not touch a single sockeye. I was not able to land a single fish- they are such powerful fish. Khin, however was able to land a smaller fish of about 8lbs. Khin also connected with quite a few big boys but they all got away during the battle. Khin bought an Islander centerpin and Sage rod around steelhead season but was not able to hook into anything so today was extra special. He got to turn on the clicker several time. I can say he is a pin guy now!!!

My nephew hooked into one too but it got disconnected after awhile.

My poor son did not touch anything but he is a quick learner as he can cast really well with his baitcaster now.

Khin battling a red spring with his centerpin!!!

Khin Battling another fish with my boy looking on.

Hey CM - any chance you could share some tips with a guy that's not had a lot of red spring luck lately?
Email is ok if you'd prefer.  spencer_rolls@hotmail.com

also , the sockeye readily take roe so you just were unlucky to not hook one.
