dumb question..... fishing hooks on airplane

are you required to check-in a lure box that contains hooks?

got a friend flying standby so she would like to use carry-on only and shes bringing my fishing tackle to toronto

The hooks are not allowed as carry-on.

send them by snail mail canada post.   usually a week.   faster service is available called  expedited.

Just debarb them and stick them through body parts, ;D they then go as jewelry. I don't think there is a limit as to the number of piercings  you are allowed. ;D
