So the season is almost upon us... when do you start chasing fall coho and springs on the vedder typically?

Coho start entering the Vedder in mid August. By the third and fourth week of August I have had some great days.

Springs.......The introduction of those fall beasts was a horrible decision.

I pretty much only fish for springs, I love them. They are a very powerful fish and a tone of fun. I go for coho every once in a while when I need roe or want some meat, but I'm mostly out for fun. I have started getting to the point where I do not care whether I take anything home or not, and even release a lot of fish now. In my opinion it doesnt matter if you catch anything, just fun to go out. I start fishing salmon in August (normally mid). At this time you can still get the odd red and early coho, sometimes even an early white. A few years ago I even got 2 pinks in one day (Aug 2nd). Just go out and get away from the family and everything else and have fun, if you catch something it's a bonus  ;)

I like to fish for the springs
They are great to catch and you have to run down the river
As well - there are lots of them - I release all the fish anyway -
so I would rather catch some than not

Although if I could figure out how to catch more (or any) coho - I might be more interested

I am the same way.  Fishing a river for Springs is my favorite type of fishing .  I've fished for everything from Bluegill to Striped Marlin and would give up any of these trips for a day on the River.
