anyone recommend a couple of good electric downriggers for a 16ft boat

What i really love is the whole pile of cash i saved when i opted to go manual rather than electric... and really its not that much work

Cant help but wonder where are fishing with 16' boat that you need electric down riggers?

Why not have electric downriggers on a 16?
If you can afford them they are great.
Id go with Scotty as they are very dependable and have a lifetime warranty.
If you fish winter springs you will appreciate the electrics.

I dont fish winter springs, why would you appreciate them more? inclement weather?

winters are down deep, I've caught them at 200+feet somtimes.

Power downriggers mean you're fishing more effectively-no grunting no groaning if you want to check the bait just push a button no monkeying around or excuse making.

In areas with lots of cabbage floating around or jellyfish they are in invaluable.

I have never met anyone who went back to manual after installing power.

I would never go manual if I could afford electric.  I fish and guide for all kinds of fish including mackinaw at 300' deep.  Try cranking a 12 lb ball (let alone 2) up and down 300' multiple times a day.  Also, the biggest benefit for me is that I can grab the rod, set the hook, turn the knob and begin the fight while the downrigger gets the ball and line out of the way at the same time.

Went with a friend on his 16ft alum boat to Bowen island and then over to hole in the wall. His scotty electrics worked perfectly. Unfortunately a 16 ft boat is not ideal for bowen, we were tossed around pretty good.
