I have to get some material ready for the meeting tomorrow in Vancouver with the Environment Minister Barry Penner regarding gravel removal on the Fraser River so report has to be brief.

I took another Minister, the minster of our church out fishing today. I was hoping for better things than 3 other outings we did together as we had only got one chinook jack in the Fraser this year.

Anyway today we had some good success having several bites, lost a few and Diane broke off a couple, not use to fighting some good sized chinooks with a 8 pound test leader. ;D ;D

By the end of the trip we had landed a fresh chum, a 12 pound chinook and get this a 13 pound clipped buck coho, the biggest I have ever been involved with in many years fishing the Vedder.

Not bad for someone's first trip to the Vedder, I guess it pays to be using a Maple Leaf DNE float. ;D ;D

Nice fish Chris.  Save some of those for me.  I'll be up there in one week.

That fish would be at least 2nd place for the derby @ Fred's.  Top fish I believe is 14.267 lbs.

Thats an average fish on the Kitimat.  Besides a couple small jacks, I only caught 2 under 12 pounds out of the couple dozen I land .

Do I miss the Vedder.....Nooooooooooooooooo!

Nice fish!!

To enter a fish in the coho derby at freds... can you just catch the fish (fill it with lead ;) ;)   j/k)and then bring it to freds and weigh it in and pay the fee?

Or do you have to pre-register in order to enter a fish?
