Do worms catch Salmon.
« on: October 14, 2008, 06:27:16 PM »

This is probably a really dumb question but my wife suggested that I should consider using dew worms for Salmon on my next outing.  At first I laughed at the suggestion but then I thought why not.  It has not occurred to me to try that because Salmon are ocean fish most of the time but they do spend some of their life cycle  as smolts eating various things (I think) so worms might not be completely alien to them.

Anybody ever tried this?

I have heard dew worms work very well for jack coho and sometimes the odd adult. They also work quite well for Steelhead in later months (March, April).

Worms definitely catch cohos. Sometimes they are exceptionally good especially if all the people around you are using roe.

Well this is very good to know and a cheaper alternative to roe - thanks for the info.
