Chilliwack River, October 30th 2008
« on: October 30, 2008, 07:57:38 PM »

Fished the lower and mid section. Lots of chums throughout the river. Fishing pressure was surprisingly light. There were no cars at Wilson Road. Quite a few people at Vedder Crossing. Water conditions were clear in the lower section but murky in the middle section. I'm surprised that there is so few spawned out fish washed up on the shore.

I was out today as well. Not many people out at all today.

I started off on the lower river and saw lots of chums. I kept the first clean doe I got, but then landed lots more bigger and some brighter ones - they were aggressive biters today. Blades worked best for me.
Heres the little chum doe:

After I got tired of playing chum I moved to the upper to try for coho. I got to the spot and found not a single person there! My last trip about a week ago there were 15 people! I was lucky and got this 12-13 pounder:  ;D

A little more exploring and I hooked up with a very large and very ugly spring that made one huge splash and broke me off. :-X

The rain and wind came up in the afternoon as I was leaving and the leaves were coming down like crazy.  I was thinking that this would be my last trip to the Vedder this year, but you never know......  :)

Wow, that chum is bright for the Vedder. Look at the sea lice near the tail.

Very nice coho and a good sized one. ;D

fished the lower today for about 2 and a half hours. Hooked into 9 fish, all chum, with the exception of one coho which I was unable to land. Pretty chill day though not many guys out at all.
