How to Elimnate Break-ins on the Vedder...VOTE Roop Virk
« on: November 15, 2008, 08:09:02 AM »

I thought I would follow up on a previous post and let everyone know that today is a municipal election day. One of your candidates in Chilliwack is a fisherman who is VERY concerned about the Vedder river and all the on going problems surrounding it. Roop has a number of strategies that he will employ to eliminate these issues should he be elected. So instead of bitching about everything from snagging, pollution and break ins now is your chance to fix the problem. Get up, get out and vote! The polls close at 8pm.   ;)

There is a tall church across the street from the statue

with crosses, steeples, bells and a vast door that looks like

a huge mousehole, perhaps from a Tom and Jerry cartoon,

and written above the door is "Per L'Universo."

Around five o'clock in the afternoon of my cover for

Trout Fishing in America, people gather in the park across

the street from the church and they are hungry.

It's sandwich time for the poor.

But they cannot cross the street until the signal is given.

Then they all run across the street to the church and get

their sandwiches that are wrapped in newspaper.

the day ANY politician solves petty crime is the day snow melts in hell. politicians are concerned about one thing - getting elected. the rest is taken with 100 tablespoons of salt.

Those that can, do. Those that can't, criticize.

Having a politician even on a local level that is an avid angler is a real benefit to the angling community. As anglers we should show support to someone who will serve our interests first as there are lots of other politicians that serve other various groups interests whatever they may be. You would be surprised what those elected people can achieve.

I hope he wins for the sake of the Vedder and Chiliiwack area.

A friend got broken in today there. Looks like those thugs are still on the loose. He said he ain't going fishing the vedder for a while. Looks like the thugs win this round.  :(  The high price of gas and the break-ins are going to discourage lots of fishermen. ICBC is going to ding the victim $300 deductible each time on top of the stolen valuables. Pathetic.  >:(
