Stamp River, February 12th 2009
« on: February 13, 2009, 10:58:36 AM »

Well, with all the reports we got that the Stamp was really slow, I was pleasantly surprised to find that we got into a few fish.  We did a guided day of fishing on the lower and hooked into four fish, three of which were hatchery does which we promptly landed and bonked.  My buddy limited out and I almost did.  Anyways, the guide said that a normal day on the lower involves landing at least 10 fish, but we were happy with what we got.  Had an incredible time fishing and was really pleased with the amount of knowledge I gained from this guide.  I have 'new eyes' for steelhead water.  For those of you who are interested, I used 'Murphy's guiding...

Hey Dion, if you are not going guided, fish the Stamp falls.  There are tonnes of steelhead there if you can get them to bite.  We hooked into three at least.
