Morris Lake - continued
« on: March 03, 2009, 12:15:22 PM »

For some reason I could not add to the thread.
19 people fishing there!?
How did everyone get there?
The only public access is from the road down to the old log dump.
Accessing the lake by walking the road though the few house and farm is all private property
There are signs everywhere - Private Property No Lake Access

As well, it is a very well known area to fish. IF everyone was in one place well that's pretty silly as there is lots of room

Like I said in another thread earlier.....
We were within the first 4 there.
Within an hour there were 19 people, all standing within the creek areas (on side of the lake in probably a 50-60 foot stretch of shorline)
Was pretty bad when we couldnt fly cast anymore so we left, and there were a few more cars parking!

As for people getting there.
I don't know what the rules are but there were people driving right down to the lake somehow  ???
There were a good 6 cars parked on the logging road and more in the "private property area" (there is a place you can park there).

people are really taking a risk by driving past the fence down to the lake. If you dont have permission its a surefire way to start trouble for yourself. I know that you can park in the little area and WALK to the lake, walking doesnt do damage like a vehicle to someone's land. I was there in the fall and picked up a bunch of garbage that was there........this is to the people going there pick up after yourselves !!!! and if you see other crap there and you can take it out with you. Its a very nice area that can & cant take alot of people (if that sounds right) FOLLOW the reg's, be respectful to the persons property and area.

and also dont be a jackass and cast 90 degrees to someone already fishing  >:( >:( had that happen last time i was there and we were the only 2 there for like 4hours until 5 more people showed up, 3 went to the other end and had fun catching a few little cutties, the other 2 came and starting casting directly over our fly lines  >:( so it was good we had out pontoons so we just went elsewhere on the lake. Still annoying though
