White Fish

 Where near chilliwack can i fish for white fish? I would like to catch lots

I have caught many, while steelhead fishing in the vedder.  There are quite a few of them in there. Fishing Bait works well for them I have also caught them on colorado spinners

whitfish have tiny mouths so adjust the hook size and baits accordingly :)

Vedder has some - but not many.
I don't know of many places where you will catch lots, maybe try some sloughs out.
If you are just trying to get someone into fishing wait until august and fly fish the residualized smolts.

if you fish late March into mid April you can catch a good amount of Whitefish in the Stave river. only downside is that its kind of hit or miss as they move around alot as do the cutties.  :-\ on a side note though is that you could tangle with one of the steelhead that are in the river also  ;)

Are the mountain whitefish you get out of the fraser trib's edible? i know lake white fish can be tasty from the prairies...assuming there are no worms. Just woindering if they are similar.

I have caught tonnes of these in the rockies.  In fact, some days, I couldn't catch a trout, but couldn't keep these funny little guys off.  These things are fall spawners, so you could try higher up in the vedder in fall and see if you can't find a big school...  Some people eat them canned, I have tried them, and they are good, but not worth the effort of scalling and cleaning in my opinion.  Biggest I have caught is about 20ish inches and they fight like a cross between a sucker and a trout of the same size.  ;D

Tamihi rapids had a bunch last time I fished there a few years back, and they were actively eating anything that looked like an egg. (Late september)
