It works killer for kokanee down south

Use corn straight out of the tin or frozen cooked corn as a hook bait or buy some maise (dry corn) and soak it for several days prior to using it.  Add molasses to the water so the corn absorbs the flavour and the sugars. Carp love it.

I have not used corn since I was about 7 up Ice fishing in the Douglas Lake Ranch area at my aunt’s cabin; I fished with some older guy that lived in the cabin next door. I remember that the fish would go nuts for the corn when the bite was on.

I used corn a lot when I fished as a kid in Europe.  It worked a treat there.  I don't see why it would be illegal if you can use marshmallows!!!

Marshmallows are good for carp too, but should be avoided when lots of ducks about.

    Another good carp bait is french fries with the added bonus that you can stave off your own hunger!

I used left-over cooked bacon once and managed to get a couple of cutthroat into the boat.....fish must have been hungover and wanted something greasy *L*
