good fly fishing spot at this time of year
« on: June 28, 2009, 08:12:50 PM »

Hi i was just wondering where would be a good spot for fly fishing in the lower mainland (rivers) in the month of july..

Also wondering if the Cheakamus/squamish river is fishable right now ?

Squamish no very silty but the Cheak is in decent shape. Fished a week ago with a  couple smaller dollies and some really nice rainbows landed. The rainbows are out in full force at this time of year which is a huge switch from when  there are salmon around.

Thanks dereke! I'm guessing the Cheak is still the same with rainbows and dollies since the Pink should be coming soon. I guess next weekend i'll try out the cheakamus!

Funny enough I was swinging intruders hoping to entice maybe a larger dolly and the rainbows were going nuts on it!!

Hi Dereke,

Was curious as to whether or not you know if springs have started entering the river.

You may want to take some muddler minnows and stonefly's too. Both good river patterns.
