Got out fishing today with a buddy before and after work.
First light fished for an hour and a half and hooked and lost two fish and landed one northern pike minnow.

Came back after work and between the two of us we hooked four fish and lost them. another buddy borrowed my rod and hooked and lost one and then my other buddy hooks and lands a female and male pink. Both were very fresh.

I had similar results. I lost 3 though. Their were 4 of us and all of us got into fish but only one of us landed one. Good times though and their were more fish around today than yesterday.

hooked 4 landed 3, kept 1.  Saw a guy keep one that looked like the spinosaurus from jurrasic park 3.

The one we kept yesterday was todays dinner.....I do a slapped together marinade that works really well for them, I ripped it and modified it slightly out of one of my wife's cookbooks.... if anyone wants to try a delicious pink here it is:

lots of soy sauce (eyeball about 1 1/2 cups??)
1/2 cup brown sugar
as much garlic as you can handle  (i use 4-5 cloves)
green onion (1 stalk)
pepper (1 tbsp)
rice wine vinegar (1 or 2 tbsp)
a little olive oil (1/2 cup maybe)
molasses 1 tbsp (although I didn't use any last night because I was out and it was still fantastic)
cinnamon (about 2 tsp)
and....
the cheapest scotch whiskey you can find, about 1/2 - 3/4 cup.

Marinate overnight, bbq on foil skin side down until done.....mmmmmmmm

Working on mine in a minute as well - had to stop for more brown sugar.

Hooked 6, landed 3 in about 30 minutes after work today.

Kept a large male and a small male, let the 3rd large male go.

There was a massive rush of fish around 7:00pm - caught 2 in 2 consecutive casts.
I stopped to bleed/clean the first one, then I thought "don't stop now!" & went back and got another on the next cast.

My first venture for pinks was a successful one. I went with my friends Joe and Natalie and we found a spot close to Sapperton for some afternoon fishing. It got really good in waves, and the fish were so aggressive that if you casted anywhere near a boil/roll/jump they would bite 90% of the time.

Thanks to spending most of my work day on FWR, I have learned so much in so little time. I caught steelhead, coho, and now pink salmon all on my first days trying. Thanks everyone! I am going back out there asap.

There were not as many fish but more people out today. Nevertheless, it was still very enjoyable.

We've prepared our pink salmon quite differently by making fish cakes out of them.

My dad prepares them that way a lot, they are very good!!!  He uses a yogurt-dill-green onion dip for them that really brings out the flavor in the cakes.  Those look delicious

Spent a couple hours on incoming tide last night in Ft Langley 530 - 730.... 3 hookups but none wanted to come home for a BBQ (I think they put the word out!  ) Saw 3 or 4 come out between the 30 to 1000 people out.  Only saw 1 jumper.  Heading out during the day today - can't keep dissapearing from the family every night, so I'll give them tonight LOL
