New to FWR just wanted to say Hi!
« on: September 17, 2009, 03:07:39 PM »

Hello everyone. I grew up fishing for Trout as well as Salmon but for some reason took a little break for the past 8 years. In early May of this year when returning to my hometown of Powell River, a buddie of mine suggested I bring my gear and we could hit Lois Lake for one fo the days I would be in town. I figured why not. Well it turned out to revive one of my greatest passions. The picture I have posted is from my friends cell phone and this was probably the biggest Rainbow I have ever caught. Needless to say i am back at it and have enjoyed catching well over 20 pinks in the past couple weeks. I am looking forward to sharing some of my fisshing adventures with the rest of you and appreciate the help i have recieved from this Web Site already. Good fishing to all, CHEERS!

Welcome aboard

I've read lots about the Powell River area lakes and always wanted to head out there. I guess that Rainbow is proof that the stories are true!

There is great trout fishing in many lakes. Inland Lake (sometimes called Loon Lake) is another one of my favourite lakes that produces huge cutthroat trout. Have landed many in the 5 -7 lb range. Very aggresive and love to jump once they are hooked. Many friends enjoy Fly Fishing these guys in April and May.
