Fished the high tide tonight from about 4-630. Ended my 4 day losing streak with this buck. A few jumpers but it was pretty slow. Didn't see anyone else land anything.

Good going.  I have not been able to do very well in South Arm though I know its a good area.

It was hot!!!!!
Including 2 newbies catching their 1st Pinks.
I had to instruct the 1st guy because he kept cranking & cranking on the spinning reel with a completely loose drag. I can't imagine how twist that line was gonna be for his next cast. Anyways, All is good after I tighten the drag for him & netted the pink for him.
It was so crowded in that area, so I decided to get in my car to find a better location.
Wow, did I ever! Several people had bent rod when I arrived.
1st cast, a Bully of a Buck, peeled line out several time before getting netted.
3 casts later, another Buck. He took some line out too.
Then I put in another half a dozen cast before I gave the spot to someone else.
The young guy beside me was miffed, " I've been here for 3 days & haven't caught a thing. What the H_ll are you using."
I gave it a look. Yep, it's pretty much what I was using. After I gave him a little tip, he got into one as I was getting into my car. I then watched him landed w/o a net. That always have the potential to be a comical. But it was pretty uneventful. After he landed it, I can hear "Oh, you're so Dead"

I think my timing was lucky. I asked someone later & they said there were nothing the previous 2 hours.
Gotta try my luck again tonight.

I had my best day of salmon fishing ever yesterday!  Not only did I get my limit of Pinks for the first time ever, but I also caught my first Steelhead ever - on the tidal fraser.  It was so white like a ghost, and the green on its back was unlike any green I'd ever seen - almost like Emerald green.  I'm pretty certain that I wasn't allowed to keep it so it was released after taking a couple of photos.  The back fin appeared to be clipped, but whoever clipped it didn't do a very good job because there was still a little stubby thing.  Anyway, the guys a Berry's told me last week that there is the odd Thompson River Steelhead running in the Fraser right now, and I couldn't believe I caught one.  I actually didn't sleep very well last night because I was so pumped from having caught my first Steelhead.  I'm still pumped!!  And unlike my first Coho that I caught a couple of days ago, I did remember to bring my cell phone camera so I could take a picture of any fish that I couldn't keep, and managed to get a picture of this Steelhead Doe.  She fought like a male Pink, and that's actually what I thought I had on the end of my line because she made a few good runs.  THen when she got close, I could tell it was a female but I didn't think it was a Pink because of how hard she fought.  Then when I saw the white mouth, gums and toungue, I couldn't believe it!  It's a day that I will never forget...by the way, I saw the most Pinks/Salmon/Fish jumping and rolling of any day so far this Pink season and I've been out fishing 10 of the first 15 days of September - they were thick and jumping everywhere during the incoming tide and even up until sundown when we had to leave....I have such good luck during the last week on the tidal fraser with pinks, catching my first Coho and my first Steelhead, that I don't think I need to go to the Vedder to catch fish; which is great because I hate the crowds and I hate snagging fish...on the tidal fraser I've never snagged a fish, I've only run into 1 other person ever at my fishinG spot, and the fish are always chromers.

So where's this "FishingG" spot then - ha, ha.   If it was me I would be pretty pumped too.  Never caught a Coho or a steelhead but I am hoping it might change this year.
