CBC TV at 8 pm --- PEDAL POWER----(bikes)

If anyone wants to watch a 60 min program on biking in our cities... at 8 pm on CBC TV has it !!! I found it quite well done actually (watched the show earlier on satilite) ......... examples ...an buissness man from the N. Shore  bikes downtown... bikes being stolen & sold in Toronto...making of new bike lanes in NYC... public bikes in Europe.(Paris) Montreal having public biking....also what some car drivers think about  sharing the road.... also the danger involved riding on public streets .... on & on "enjoy " the show :)

Any more designated bike lanes and I'm building a better front skid plate for my truck.  ;D  Now how about adding a dedicated car lane on the sidewalk?

I don't know. Looking from another angel that might not be a joke but more of being sarcastic.  Translink kept on charging motorists more and more and yet, so many roads in the city has gone to cyclist only.  That's definitely not a fair trade.  :D

kodiak Hi Actually the program was on last Thursday when I posted BUT ......."GOOD NEWS"..... tonight (Sunday) on CBC-NW ( the CBC 24 hr news channel.....not the normal CBC ch. will repeat the program !!!!!)-----------------------So tonight CBC NW ch at 11 pm to 12 am PEDAL POWER will be repeated. ----------------------- I am a biker as well but mostly use bike routes or side streets which have fewer cars. ( Any busy street with no bike lane I will not bike on ...as it is just TOO DANGEROUS. Back in my high school days (many many yrs ago remember biking to school on the right side of the road....... a semi went by pulling a long flat lumber trailer...as it was going by me noticed the trailer was getting closer & closer to me so I went onto the gravel.....glad I did as then saw the back wheels of this trailer travell right to the side of the roadway...where I was just secs. earlier. Noticed as the semi continued on that his trailer was pulling to the right side.------------------ Luckily the truck was not going fast so it gave me time to access the situation...... this is just 1 of 100 other close calls..... SO NOW  JUST LIKE TO BIKE IN SAFER ROUTES !!!!  :)
