Tidal Fraser River, November 6th 2009
« on: November 07, 2009, 11:29:15 AM »

Headed out for another day of bar fishing with my Dad.  Thought we would  fish the incoming high tide.  The rain wind and all the leaves in the water made it a bit tough in reading the rod.  Had a few takes  on the incoming but nothing to show for it.  The change happened and started to run out, most times this is the most productive time to catch a fish.  Also the water clarity was way down from a week ago.  My dad catches the first fish, a 15" cutthrout, then a fish hammers my rod and I set the hook and feel something pretty solid on the other end, waiting for a coho to explode out of the water, it doesn't happen, instead a small sturgeon comes to the surface and swirls.   Not long after, that I get another bite and its a cutthrout.  We try for a bit longer, but no jacks or coho.  I think this may of been my last bar trip of the season.  All in all a pretty good season down on the bar.

I headed out at 3:30pm to get some fresh air and discovered that I wasn't the only nut braving the strong southeasterly gust. ;D Two others were searching for bull trout, one of them was Randolph. I showed him where I have had some success and proved it further by bringing in a tiny bull trout. Then the rain and wind really picked up, so it was time to make the short outing even shorter. :)

Nope, hands were frozen, fish was small, so slipped it off the hook right away after I showed Randolph that there were indeed fish in the shallow water and I was not just pulling his leg. ;D
