After hearing yesterdays reports from Chris , come hell or high water I was going up today. Went to the lower end first and the water was high. Only hung around about an hour and headed up river. Lots of people, and river was high here too, but colour was good. Fished several of my favourite zones but by noon was getting all ittle discouraged. Decided to stop just below the cedars and watched the wakeboarders playing on the run. Honest, these guys had a six horse power motor 100 meter line and were getting pulled upriver in about 6 seconds flat. Talked to a chap briefly who told me there were fish in the river, his girlfriend just lost 3, so I was excited to get back fishing. Went down river a bit, climbed down a steep bank, put my rod together, and threaded on a bug. Barely tossed it out there and a strong fish had already taken off with my offering. After about 2 aerials and a half a dozen runs I had a wild doe at my feet. Gazed at her beauty, unbuttoned the hook, and sent her on her way. Went down river, colour was still ugly, so headed back up, fished a few more zones, and hooked a wild buck of about 6 lbs. Just before dark, all in all a pretty good day, considering the conditions.
