I have some waders with the built in gum boots, without felt bottoms just normal rubber boots.
They are extremely hard to walk on rocks with and through the water.
Just wondering if anyone has any ideas on what i can do to make them better.

Try gluing some carpet to the bottom of your boots to prevent slippage.

Gel Insoles if there is a bit of room in them

Use them as a spare set of waders for friends etc.... then go out and buy yourself a new set of breathables

Easy way to twist or break your ankle.

Get some breathables or neos and lace up boots a size or two bigger.

Express reel service replaces worn out felt soles, you could call them and see if they could add the felt to your boots.

for safety's sake, minimize wading in them...their poor design adds to the resistance of moving water against your legs...better just to use them for rain gear and shallow water wading.

best advice if you intend to fish regularly on the local flow...buy stocking foot with separate wading boots...your life is well worth it.

Sounds like new waders are the best suggestion. You'll be happy you did.

Thanks for the replies, i got a hole in the waders in the back and i patched them with the patch they give you.
they did not come with enough material to fully get the hole so water seeps in, but my dads old pair of waders have this black gunk all over them that they used for patching rips and holes.
does anyone know where i could get some of the black stuff?

Sounds like stuff called sikiflux.  $10 buck for a tube.  Can be found at most marine stores or boat shop.  If your fixin a tear you will need some material to go over it.

I use Shoe Goo or Goop.
Find it Revy,CT etc.
Is clear.
