If you are talking about largemouth bass I can tell you that they usually aren't very active at all until mid summer. You need a big spike in water temperature before they come alive. Now if it is small mouth you are dealing with then it should be game on this time of year. BTW, I don't think this thread is pathetic. I like the little guessing game. And besides is it really wrong to share a little information between fellow fisherman regardless whether they are a stocked fish or not? Just my two cents.  :)

This thread is pretty pathetic.

Secret chronimid techniques for stocked Trout in Lower Mainland lakes? You guys have to be kidding me

At this time of year those fish (especially with recent stocking) will be so stupid they will hit just about anything that looks like food

Lets see three boats, two tubes (six fishermen) and i  was  the only one catching fish that day :-\

what goes around comes around, good luck when you need advice!

My post was not meant to tease anyone ,I just thought mentioning about a  lake and how I did that day may help others to think about dusting the cobwebs off the fly gear and getting out to some of the local lakes as the weather has been warmer than usual for this time of year
I did not realise i had to give a blow by blow account of what i did and what i used that day
my bad,  :-\

If you want to throw something shiney then stand between the dock and the point and cast small Krocs. The bigger trout will hit them.

Also works if you anchor at the logs in the middle and throw Krocs there as well. No big deal. Pull a Wedding Ring spinner tipped with worm - it all works.

Lot's of ways to productively fish Mill Lake. Some people take the fish home - others like myself release them for someone else to enjoy.

Personally I only use flies now - mostly chronies, sometimes pheasant tail nymphs, sometimes small half backs - often small green sparkle leech with brass beadhead and sparse, thin wooly buggers in green/black.

Lakes like Mill are good for getting the boat out and trying your luck. Fly pattern type is not going to help most chowder hounds from getting their daily limit. Probably OK to say what fly pattern is CURRENTLY working. I would go with what Rieber posted and also never stop trying new flies. :)
