15 lbs lost & another 15 lbs to go....
« on: March 18, 2010, 07:05:25 PM »

Back in January said that I needed to rid myself of excess fat.  Well since then 15 lbs have been knocked off.
Thanks to alot of members of FWR advice I've seen results.
Notice I'm not so red faced & have better balence when changing clothes. Before it was like I was un-balanced in doing the simplest
of chores.
Also bike riding for 1 hr or so in the many areas of Richmond has kept me from putting on the lbs if I should over eat. (get out & burn the carbs)
It's so neat to bike ride in Richmond as there's so many bike routes,  side streets, & it's all flat land which is a bonus.
Just gotta dress warm & have gloves. (bike helmet of course) Also use red blinking & headlights at pm hrs. & you'd be surprized 50% of the bikes at night have no lights at all. They could get nailed by a car very easily.
But who couldn't enjoy an outing when ya can see ducks & heron in a small water filled ditch surrounded by houses...or like today rode slowly thru 100's & 100's (1000's ?) a flock of snow geese that were feeding on grass at a NW elementary school grassy field.........then just minutes later seeing hawks low flying in search for food by the west Richmond dykes...all the above examples of wildlife within 20 meters & some cases 3 meters from me.  Slowly losing the lbs but at least there are results!!!  :)

Haha congrats i wish i could of taken those 15 pounds of ya and put them on me. I have been training MMA for the last 4 months and put on just over 12 pounds of muscle, i cant gain any fat at all no matter how much i eat because i have ridiculous metabolism. I'm also trying to go for another 15 pounds to put my overall weight. Oh if you really wana get in shape and lose weight FAST! try some beginner kickboxing classes at any local gym. The amount of sweat that leaves your body from just basic boxing techniques is amazing!

Thank you ! Thank you!
kk salt Those Giant brand of bikes are SUPER !!! Have fun.

Floater kickboxing definately would be a great workout (never tried it)
Seen those thai boxers going at it ....with those feet they can hit a person very hard... some kick the legs on the sides of the other guy's knee (ouch !) then as the guy starts to pain & protect that area a bit ...the guy goes & kicks the guy on the side of the head...LIGHTS OUT...In fact got to do some exercise in the next 30 min. (4 toast & a bowl of chicken stew to burn off...kinda over ate so..... I blame Gordo & his politics for my eating 2 extra toast ::) "ha") )

Keep it up ArimaBoater!  I have to keep active very often.  When I don't, I feel sluggish and unmotivated.  By FAR, my favourite activity to stay in shape is hiking. I try to hike as often as possible.  Also I play soccer twice a week (practice once and a game once) ...our team is going to the finals in the fraser valley soccer league (had to brag) ;D
But defenitely our hiking trails around are often under utilized.  Everyone should go for a hike now and then.  Everybody has hiking trails near them, no matter where they live.  I often do the Hayward lake loop.  It's 17 kms round trip and takes me about 4.5-5 hours.  Go during july and august and have all the Huckleberries you can eat. next time you have some spare time, look up some trails in your area and go exploring!

I good way to lose weight is lose avoid eating a lot of processed junk foods and snacks such as cookies, potato chips, cakes, chocolate bars, muffins, donuts, and soda drinks. Instead, try eating vegetables and fruits, fish, lean meats with a moderation of dairy and nuts in your diet daily.  I lost 10lbs by doing this, not because I needed to lose weight, but I wanted to be healthier.
