alouette lake
« on: June 16, 2010, 02:50:56 PM »

Fished alouette lake this morning, water was calm and we hooked a few kokanee. I was wondering if anyone knows if they are going to put the other wharf in any time soon. Alouette has had two floats for loading up your gear  and family for years. I avoid the lake on weekends but alot of boaters have no choice but to use the lake on weekends. must make a crowded boat launch even more congested without the other float. Also how did the derby on the weekend turn out?

When I was fishing at Mike lake earlier this year, one of the parks workers said that the were given a new wharf and with the work that done to the shore the two older wharfs were taken away. This year there will only be only be one wharf, from what I understand.

No! No other wharf for now… I’ve talked to park crew and the ladyfish keeper last weekend (June 12th). They told me, people are very upset! They had many complains about the workmanship as they had to remove the original 4 weak Round Hooks where people tied the boats. They’ve nailed down the new 2x3 all around the dock. The parks people are still screwing down the “Square Non-Slip Metal Grid”. All this is happening now, going into a full season? That’s is now, 2 moths later…

All this is going to create bad publicity, as the single dock is highly inadequate. Not sure how it will handle the 60 or so boats and skidoos this summer. A lot of boats had to be moved to the right of the ramp, where they were scraping the rocks!

I “sure like” the fast loud boats too! Sounds like 454 engines with high Rooster Tails behind them! That’s what you get when you want to relax and have a nice quite day of fishing…LOL Forget about the weekends now…

If the 11:300 winds don’t spoil your fishing day, the noise will!
