Lafarge Lake, April 28th 2010
« on: April 28, 2010, 09:27:46 PM »

Had to take the car in for service today and did not get it back until 2.30pm
so i decide to try Lafarge and got there arround 3.30pm
I was supprised to see no one on the water(boat\pontoon\tube etc)
I was joined by a inflatable and two tubers later on
There was one fly fisher there when i arrived, he was wading in and casting,
he said it was his first time out fly fishing, he was casting well for a beginner in the windy conditions
It was slow going fish wise
I only got one hit on the chironomid, wind got up so i changed my set up and trolled arround
Only managed two fish landed and five missed
Guys on the shore were not getting much either
Oh well thats fishing for you :-\
I think i will hit Mill lake in the morning 8)

Thanks for the report Britguy.  I wonder how fast that lake gets "fished-out".  Those trout are pretty gullible.  Hook and his dad were joking about the feeding time coinciding with the pellet schedule.  LOL.  Anyway, it was very busy on Sunday and we figured if everyone took four fish, it would be a few hundred fish per day at least...

If 20 people caught their limits for 2 weeks straight and left , that is over 1100 fish taken out of the lake . A lake can get fished out very fast at that rate .

Lafarge is heavily fished and tends to get "fished out" quickly. Then again I've gone one day and had non stop action, nothing the next day and then non stop a few days later...its strange
