« on: June 28, 2010, 05:39:46 PM »

HI,

a little last minute but I haven't booked a camp site and am wondering if all the sites will be booked this long weekend.  I emailed a few and they are obviously booked up

So, I am wondering if you guys have some suggestions, here are the requirements

1) has showers + running water
2) good fishing

i was hoping a lake in the merrit/kamloops area but am not coming up with any places which has the facilities,

suggestions?

Tunkwa! The fishing is great and they have cabins for rental. The camping is also great. They have running water and showers.

just bring a 10 gallon bucket with holes in the botton , heat some water up on the fire , pour in bucket while standing under it , viola ! shower !

water should be running freely in a near by stream or river . just don't pollute .

Now you can go any were in the province .

tell your wife to stay home if she needs a shower to "camp"  ::) LOL

you could always try Logan lake it has showers and stuff and is right in town incase you forget anything. Tunkwa & Leighton lakes are also within a 20 minute drive away.

I dont think anyone can guarantee you good fishing especially being that the Summer weather seems to be finally showing up and pushing the majority of the fish to deeper water  ;)

Is good fishing & showers your only demands ?? or does fish size matter ??

if you camp with in driving distance of a town, you just find the local public pool/YMCA or whatever, and shower there. Its cheap too. I think it was 12 bucks for a family of 6 at the one in Sooke. Then we could SWIM and SHOWER!! bonus!  We had camped in China Creek and French Beach. Pool was open at 6 am already.
