It's usually not my thing to be critical of someone without knowing all the facts, but I couldn't help feel extremely angry at the potential that the person that caused this incident acted in a stupid, immature and greedy way that in the end put a number of people in extreme danger.

Wow! I can't help being a little humbled when I see that.   Makes me see how easily things can turn life threateningly bad with nothing more than a little slip of the foot.  Unfortunately I have  taken a few lips myself and count myself as lucky the water was running slow in those spots.  I am sure others have too.  Its easy to get a little excited by a fish on and completely forget the potential for danger.  [..learning to be more careful the more I fish]

The same thing happened yesterday at PegLeg one guy went in his buddy tried to help he goes in and then it all unfolds from there.I must say the quick actions of alot of good people made sure that all these guys lost were their fishing rods.I must say please make sure you know where your standing as it drops off quickly

Why are they wading there? Wanting to help Mr.Darwin with his selection of species I guess. Best to keep some out of the gene pool.

Holy cupcakes, Im glad someone was able to get some video footage of this and open our eyes a little wider to take in how dangerous the Fraser and other rivers can be. I think Ill start packing a rope around on this river as you never know what will happen.

How were they able to locate this guy with hipwaders in the murky Fraser waters? Im assuming he was instantly pulled to the bottom?  I can remember a similar situation on the Vedder where a guy slipped and fell in and had his waders fill up with water. He was instantly sucked to the bottom and rolling around in the bottom of the pool, His life was saved when fellow fishermen stripped off there waders and drove in to push him into the tailout where he was then dragged to shore.

Just a fluke if you ask me, as to why he did not stay down. One of those things that started innocently but  turned ugly real quick. Darn lucky nobody died from this mishap.

Holy Cow!!! If that was last Saturday morning I was there with the Wife and son, we were anchored about 5 boats down in the line of boats casting, we heard screaming and yelling, sounded real scary, my son yelled at us to reel in, unfortunately I was in the front of the boat and have some serous health problems and couldn't get the anchor up very fast. It was over as fast as it started, we seen the guys struggling in the water, then thank God the boat came flying in and grabbed who ever was in the water, was pretty wild seeing this video!!!

I saw a similar situation unfold at peg sunday evening a guy waded out inthe channle and slipped off the drop off and the current from the channel pushed him into the main river he had to drop his vest to even have a chance held onto his rod though not worth it if you askme the fraser is a sneaky river with hidden drop offs everywhere and weird currents that willdrag you straight out.I had to give my father heck for wanting to were waders the other day you dont need them in this weather even just for landing a boat on shore slippery rocks and big drop offs can happen in seconds
