Chilliwack River, September 11th 2010
« on: September 12, 2010, 02:35:24 PM »

Was out on the vedder today for a scouting trip more then anything. Water super low and clear only saw 1 jumper all day. Virtually no other people on the river at all. The lower part has had some gravel removal again at the usual areas of the river. One of the more popular spots just above the CPR bridge is no more but will prob be good for fly casting and spinning when they do arrive. :)

Is there any gravel extraction on the opposite side of the river from Peach or Lickman road this year?  Is the extraction above the CPR bridge on the North side from the area that connects to Sinclair road?  Thanks, plan to scout it myself this week but prior knowledge can save me a lot of time :)

I also looked around yesterday and this afternoon. With the rain the river is coming up. Saw one fish (looked like a spring jack) and had one on for less than a  minute. Fought more like a small spring than a coho. Caught a few trout with the small set up I was using. Hardly anyone on the river and no fish to speak of. They should be coming in with the rain. Heard there were only 15 coho in the hatchery last week.
