First because in these sections the water is low and slow and all spinners, floats, and lead only spook the fish, and is therefore is not compatible with fly fishing which does not spook the fish.    Again, knowledgeable fishers will know what sections I'm talking about.
Well that's a load of crap. There is alot of terrible fly casters out there. I think the government should apply "No Seal Zones" too where no mammals such as Seals are allowed to swim because I hear they spook fish too.

The Norrish is a small system that with one heavy rain can come way way way up.

The reason the Nicomen and Norrish have been low is the weather.  Who really knows
what mother nature will bring these next few years???

Fly fishing only...Sounds good keep all the Fraser/vedder beeks away.  ;D

Wishful thinking.

I don't care if its a hatchery river or not.   Rivers that are large such as the Vedder or Squamish don't need a fly fishing only disignation even if there were great for fly fishing because they are large, but a small river such as Norrish in some sections should be disignated fly fishing only.

First because in these sections the water is low and slow and all spinners, floats, and lead only spook the fish, and is therefore is not compatible with fly fishing which does not spook the fish.    Again, knowledgeable fishers will know what sections I'm talking about.  Its impossible to sustain a quality fishing experience on a quiet section of river when surrounded by heavy hard ware tossers.

I do not favour the fly fishing only disignation as a general rule, but in very exceptional and limited locations.

dfo can't keep people from fishing the limit hole no matter how many signs there are, you think that they could in any way regulate a few spots on the Norrish that would be fly only? there are really only a few spots on this river that hold fish, if you want to fish in between those I'm sure you would not have to worry about being crowded out ;D

So basically a fly angler is complaining that gear is either too effective or spooks fish that he was hoping to catch?
I've never had a problem using gear to hook coho in the norrish even in low clear conditions.
