I recently had a tennant move out on me and left a bunch of " junk"

in that junk was 5 fishing reels.  they had a receipt in the bag from 30 years ago

reels are the Zebco cardinal 4.    I gave 2 of them to a buddy and kept the other 3.

any idea what they are worth.  they are in decent condition but have been used

If those reels were still in their original boxes, and pretty much new or in mint condition, you could get at least $ 100/reel.  If the reels are in good condition, I would post them on Ebay and see what you can get for them.  My two cents worth.

are those cardinals black and green if so they are worth more then a hundred bucks can you post some pics

I dont have any pics handy but they are green and have a off white cover that kinda goes around the spool....

The big question among serious collectors is: What version of the Cardinal 4 are we talking about?

If it is the super rare Version 1, you hit the jackpot.
If not, then it all depends on the state of the reels.

Zebco is Abu's USA offspring and the Cardinal 4 is one of its most popular spinning reels ever.
They are great Swedish made reels - I'd keep one around if I were you.
If you prefer to unload them, assuming they are in fairly decent condition, showing use, but not abuse, you should be able to get 75-100 bucks for each. Even if they are total beaters, you are likely to get 50 bucks for each.

I will only collect spinning reels if they bear the ABU Ambassadeur name, such as this one:

From a collector's standpoint, I am not really interested in the Zebco brand, but I can tell you a little more about your reels if you forward me the serial number stamped on the reel's foot.There's a gazillion collectors in the USA that go gaga at the mention of Cardinal, and the best way to tap into that market via is via fleaBay.

Reasonable.
That way you avoid the hassle of taking pictures and uploading them on eBay, and you don't need to pay any fees.

If the painter is a fisherman, I'd say sell them to him for $50 a piece and everybody happy.
