Pike attacks walleye twice.

My Dad and I a couple of years ago in Northern Ontario on a fly in trip.  Tonnes of walleye in this lake, and it's also where I caught my biggest pike ever.  This spot, we found was up on a shelf in about 9 feet of water, and we were catching walleye one after the other.  We'd hook the odd pike, but then this happened.  Very, very cool.

Neat video!  Looks like a lot of fun, never fished Walleye before.

I remember fishing for pike when I was young and they were some mean bunch.
Despite their aggressiveness, however, they never quite seem to have the stamina of a sea run steelhead or salmon when hooked.
But pike, perch and walleye fishing does bring back many fond memories from the past. :)

yeah, i have heard stories growing up about this. my parents were school teachers in Little Grand Rapids northern Manitoba before i was around. they used fish alot, and i heard about this and pike eating just about everything else, including pop cans... ??? anyways one of the larger ones is still in there house in chilliwack here, mounted on a wall :)

I hear that walleyes are awesome eating fish and northern pike is tough and not as good eating?

true, Walleye is AMAZING! lucky for us in the valley here we have a local seafood shop that regularly brings in Walleye :P
