Ebay deals - let's hear your stories
« on: June 20, 2011, 09:51:14 PM »

I have never been much of an E bay person, but have started looking and bidding on items. I am currently bidding on a J.W. young pin reel. Although it is a bit scary buying a reel older than I am from the UK, it will be a great deal compared to what you can buy locally.

I was wondering what kind of deals everyone has found on E bay. Success stores and failures.

I used to get lots of good deals years ago but no as much anymore. So many more businesses are on there. Still some good deals to be had but not as much as in the past.

not that many good deals anymore, and its hard to win them when you do find them...i have found good prices on waders and boots on ebay in the past, and since a friend lives in washington, i pay no tax or shipping so its pretty cheap for me

Bought a few years supply of jigheads, some marabou jigs, and a few small other things recently.

My best score was on a ceramic stove top replacement as I cracked ours.  $250 shipped to my door.  Kitchen-aid, the manufacture, wanted almost $700.

I had an older motorcycle and e-bay saved me a lot of time and money for parts.

Time to go buy something.

Inclined to agree with ya!

Not fishing related, but a buddy of mine swiped an Olds 442 (I think it was a 442) for $700 in Oregon state...went to go see it, looked brand new!

I bought a couple of #4 fly blanks... couldnt figure why they cast so badly when I built them up, upon closer inspection they were more like 7-8 weights!

I get a bit frustrated with the ridiculous shipping charges some people add on, always check that before you start bidding

I bought a brand new Hardy fly reel From a guy in the UK and it cost me $430 CND Including shipping for a reel priced at $685 before taxes here locally. Think I got a good deal on that one :-)
