We were walking around Hicks a just over a week ago and saw a couple of float tubers who were doing pretty well by just slowly trolling around with their fly rods.

Deer lake was brown and I am assuming was in turnover last Wednesday?
Went to Hicks and hit probably 20+ cutties each on our fly rods trolling around by the boat launch.
None over 12" long though. All on pumpkin heads in black and olive.

well we had a successful day, landed about 10 fish in about 3 or so hours.  all around the two islands.  my wife had bought me the fishin buddy fish finder as a birthday gift and it was fun to use it out on the water.  the wind did pick up quite a bit so it started to make maneuverability in or small boat difficult.

Was up to Hicks last weekend, my wife, my brother-in-law and I all caught one each, we lost and released several, I lost a fair sized rainbow, these little guys are scrappy and colourful, pretty lake, wasn't crowded, sure is deep, 140 ' in spots. campground was pretty packed, cold fires going by all campers. :P

It should be very good. The Fraser Valley Trout Hatchery has released 3,000 catchable rainbow trout into Hicks and 1,000 fish into Deer. Another 1,000 will go into Deer soon.
