The safety fence is alittle bit built in from the dock so it is quite easy to climb over it & still have some dock to stand on...say a helper to net a guy's or gals fish.......but not a safe thing to do. On a ebb tide that current is really going fast...
Crazy yr as the Fraser R is usually quite clean looking by now but it is still very murky.
But your right Dogbreath some guy is going to fall in (hopefully get rescued) & they will put a NO FISHING SIGN along with the NO SWIMMING SIGN. But maybe not as there are accidents happening all the time on the roads pedal biking airplane crashes etc...but these activities just keep on going.
Plus quite a few have drowned trying to swim back from Shady Is.(Steveston Is.) ...they got to the island on low tide via the rock jetty at the east end ...then a flood tide came in....well things just go on & on......as usual.
As long as that fence is up the City of Richmond will not be on the hook for being sued (think that would be the main city's concern.)
Gee hope that dock is well lit up at night as I can also see the possibility of a boat or larger vessel ramming into it.
(not only at night but in foggy conditions)
But even as it is now it would be great to bring a lawn chair & some binooklers or field glasses & view the nature & boats passing by.......& inbetween read a good book OR shoot the breeze
