Pegleg today
« on: August 23, 2011, 11:29:02 PM »

Still very high and doable only by boat:

Another angle:

Don't be stupid to attempt to cross it on foot or in any vehicle other than a boat. It's impassable.
The current is still fast and treacherous.

There's plenty of other spots along the Fraser from which to fish without putting yourself at risk.

Some say gravel mining above may gave shifted the channel more to the left bank so may not be crossable during the fishing season, we will see. :-\

I was there 2 days ago. People were parking at the lot and then walking along the rocks across knee deep water and getting to the bar.

very true about the fish traveling the left side of the river cause ive hit the river about 7 or 8 times for sockeyes and nothing but i watch all the boats on the other side of the river and its fish on after fish on kinda frustrating and im not willing to go to scales and go shoulder to shoulder i like walking in somewhere thats not obvious to the rest of the world

Are you trying to eliminate a couple more fishermen off the river?

No one crossed on foot yesterday. Look at the pictures...there's no one on the bar, except people who got there by boat on the opposite side of the river.

Be careful out there...the Fraser is high and strong. Forget Pegleg for now.

thanks for the pics milo thats awesome, i was almost going to drive by today but then i didnt have enough time. that is way too high and no point to even wade across, not worth risking your life for a 8 lb sockeye

Are you trying to eliminate a couple more fishermen off the river?

... and are you having fun assuming I condone dangerous fishing practices? ;) Providing an observation - and people here can draw their own conclusions.
