The super-rich are getting richer, and there will always be ideas to cater to their wants and their endless supply of cash.

In the meantime, the average joe keeps bitching about the cost of living, but keeps electing time and again those same politicians who, through taxes and other maneuvers, make it possible for the super-rich to afford yachts such as the WHY and have average joe pay for them.

What a brilliant scheme! ::)

Sounds like you are hoping to go back to the good old days when Robin Hood took from the rich and gave to the poor.....  ;D

It was one of my favorite fables when I was growing up. I've grown up since then to realize that without people that use their God given talents to become successful (get rich), that there would be a whole lot more poor people. There would also be a whole lot more very able and talented people sitting on their duffs doing nothing because they would realize that all their efforts would be futile under your Robin Hood dreamland.

I'd apologize for the thread high jack, but I had to respond to this delusional second post.  Nice boat!

I've grown up since then to realize that without people that use their God given talents to become successful (get rich), that there would be a whole lot more poor people.

I pity people who equate success with being rich. I really do. But that's a different topic altogether.
For the record, I am far from poor. I am what you would call comfortable middle class - a lucky individual who makes a decent living by means of one 35 hours/week job (an endangered species, BTW!).

I agree with you that people using their god given talents to become rich is good and necessary for society. What I have a problem with is when those talents are lying, deceiving and stealing. I have no respect whatsoever for people such as Conrad Black, Bernie Madoff, Gordon Campbell et alles...I do however harbor a lot of respect for the likes of Bill Gates, Oprah Winfrey, Howard Shultz et alles.

It's not with being rich that I have a problem; it is with how one gets to be rich I sometimes have issues.

As long as it is not at my expense, enjoy making money - I fully endorse that.
And if you ever get to buy a WHY yacht, I'll be genuinely happy for you.
I even wouldn't refuse an invitation for a drink on the deck. :)

Conrad Black, Bernie Madoff, Gordon Campbell

Now you hit my rant spot!! But I'll try to be short.
Of the three you listed, only Gordo has affected me personally. And I can't say enough bad things about him. I've met him once or twice at small functions and he is quite civil but just pumps out the ol BS.
I wonder, now that he got his rewards for lying to us about the HST, and is our representative in London, can we somehow move the province of BC to another location in the world and not tell Gordo??? That way we'll never have to put up with him again.

Back to fishing topics I go. Sorry for the rant, but I didn't start it!!

Like inheriting money from daddy without doing the work??

The rich's time is coming. More and more poor people less middle class. The rich may be successful with their media co hurts like Global Tv to convince the middle class all their woes are caused by poor people and single mothers but the middle class is almost gone and it is only time before they turn on the rich and it will be glorious when it happens to.

Maybe Im just a child of the technological age, but the thought that ran through my head was "Afford to make a gorgeous and great CGI movie, cant afford a decent internet connection to stream is properly." I even had a smoke while it loaded and it was still 3/4 done, and then watched it, and it didnt get much further than that. Unacceptable in this day and age!

I don't see a problem with it. If you can afford it off something you've earned then go for it.
I'd buy it if I had money to throw around.

Would you be for gulags for the rich just like your predecessors in 1917 ? Maybe a little forced famine and the like ? Or just bullets ?
