Leighton Lake, August 26th 2011
« on: August 26, 2011, 03:37:58 PM »

Arrived at Rerry's camp at dark and after a brief visit off to bed in the leaf Mobile. It got cold last night dipped to 4 Celsius.

Daylight came quickly and it was the first chance to try the rubber boat i bought last year for $200.

It had a leak that George had so kindly fixed last week and in no time it was pumped up and ready for action.

I was pumped too as terry said the fishing had been good the last few days with fish to 3 pounds.

It turned out to be the old saying, 'should have been here yesterday" as i only had one chance when not looking at my indicator. Terry was into a couple and one other boat a few more. Of course i am a beak at lake fishing and have yet to master it. I even trolled a flatfish around while i viewed the lake but came up empty too.

There was some good news for the day my boat did not leak or sink and the HST when down to defeat soundly.

Off now from Logan Lake to were I can catch some fish after a stop at the Packing House in Spences Bridge for coffee.

--I was just at the old powder keg... nicola valley sports shop in merritt today... they really beefed up their fly tying materials from kamloops flyshop that closed earlier in the year. Really worth stopping in there... and guess what the owner actually fishes in the area so has a good handle on what might be working. Fred was just re-stocking the shelves today with river salmon gear ready for the Thompson opening saturday.

Logan had winter kill last year as the aerator failed. I was fishing there a few days prior and, other than a 6 inch fish on Tunkwa, diddly squat.
And go to the Copper Valley Resort for the Chinese food buffet.........Really good and very reasonable.
