Tidal Fraser River, October 27th 2011
« on: October 27, 2011, 10:39:19 PM »

No luck for me today. Fished from 10:30 to 4:30 with not a single hit from any fish, except for 2 small cutthroat. Fished a different tide. Maybe that was the problem, or it"s over for that area and time to go elsewhere. Hope you have a good report tomorrow 66. It might get me motivated for next week. Good luck.

I am going to push it for all its worth with this exceptional year. To give all an idea, I fished this area last year for one week in Oct for the first time in many many years. I too was drawn to the Chilliwack / Chehalis program in lure of higher chances but decided to go back to the roots of mid Fraser river fishing. Lack of time and "fishing in the blood"  ...... 30 plus years .......drew me to just get a line wet and get out there and enjoy the scenery somewhere close. I was relatively happy when i went and got a couple hook ups a day and a few lost taps at the lure. All were jacks with exception of one smaller coho about 4lbs. This all being quite common with bar fishing BUT this season is shocking.
Its just a reminder that fish don't change........ they all still come thru areas of least resistance ...... they all take advantage of rest areas and best of all - every fish that's heading to all the mid to upper Fraser tribs that most are focused on ALL come past mid Fraser points. That percentage and volume of fish is pretty high to me ......now just figure out how to get them.

I'll run a report tonight Knife, to let you know if any pattern change yet. I will assume the end is near as well but will work it until that time.
