Grice and Young parts?
« on: November 02, 2011, 08:01:52 PM »

Has anyone had any luck sourcing any parts for Grice and Young pin reels, or had any success getting them repaired, have a Coq D'Or that is in need of some attention?

Thanks Geff, I am mainly wondering if anyone has had any luck sourcing parts right now, will probably work out cheaper to buy another one than get it repaired, am looking for a replacement cap.

Well if you are in the lower mainland then just drop by Mike's reel repair with the reel and see if he has a cap. You would be amazed what kind of parts he has. If he does not have the right part he may just have one that will work. I have done it with another reel that I had. I had an Avon Royal  and was able to use a part from a different reel that fit.

Go to UK Ebay for this is where Grice and Young's home is. I have bought numerous fishing equipment from England on Ebay's web site. The shipping is reasonable too.

That's where a lot of my reels come from too, never seen much in the way of parts though, maybe a beater parts reel will show up soon.

Second the postage too, half the price of Canada post and often in your hand in 5 days.
