Hey I see I made a report without even doing it myself lol. So now I will make one myself  ;D

Well as I woke up early and I mean early for me lol, which was just past 5am, I looked out the window to see nothing but white and it was still coming down. I stumbled to the other room to get my cell because I figured Searun would be calling to say "go back to bed too much snow" but as the minutes past I figured out that he was already on his way over and just as I finished getting ready he pulled up in front of the house. First thing he says is that the roads are horrible and he was sliding around and that was even with snow tires on. We decided to go anyways but if it started to get worse we would turn around and say forget it.  We made our way through Maple Ridge without much difficulty and without seeing anyone in the ditch, that was until we hit Mission where it seemed the road crew was enjoying their time in bed and a few people where in the ditch. We finally made it to the south side of the Fraser river and man where the roads there much better. But they must of been pretty slippery before we got there because there where cars in the ditchs all over the place.

We finally hit the #1 highway with the roads being much better then what we had seen earlier in our drive so we could finally make some time in hopes of getting there before sunrise. So it looked like we would make to the river well before sunrise, that was until we got off the highway to see the city streets to be covered in snow, but with thoughts of steel we pushed on to the river as this is what winter steelheading is all about, cold temps and snow. We finally made it to the river where we wanted to start and luckily there was only one other car there, so we quickly put our waders on and headed off for our walk to the river, I was sure glad that I had decided to buy wading boots where studs could be placed because I could sure tell that it would a slippery walk in. Luckily for me I had no problems because that last thing that I want would be a back that is out before any fishing is done  ;D . We finally made it to the run we wanted to start in with a big thanks to Searun for the help in getting me there. We where lucky to see no one around so that we could finally work a run from top to bottom without and fence posters to work by.We had just enough time to bait up and start fishing.

Searun and I started from the top of the run making sure to run 2 different kinds of gear. Me with roe bags that I had tied up the night before and Searun with the trusty pink worm. We worked the entire run with absolutly nothing so we started back at the top and ran something new. Me with a pro-cured prawn and Searun with a spinner but still there was nothing. We where quite dissapointed as this run has produced well in the past 2 weeks and today the river looked the best that we have seen it, but thats steelheading for you and the disapointment is quickly gone as we know the fish just might be in the next run. That feeling of knowing that everytime you cast and drift you just might get one of the most beautiful fish to bite your offering and it is this feeling that keeps us coming back for more  ;D

We finally decided that enough is enough and we would leave these fish for another day. Besides it was starting to snow again and we did not want to make our drive home any longer then it should be.

The snow was a great surprise and made for a nice backdrop as I posed for pictures with my first Steelie. Other than myself, we didn't see or hear of much action elsewhere during the day.
