Can someone recommend a durable ultralight spin rod, that wont break after 3 outtings?

Ideally i would like it to be a travel rod, with each pieces 1.5' long or less,

but with my budget of around 75$, I am willing to consider something like a 4'6" 2 piece ultralight rod to fit my budget.

Some advise please!

Mcfuzzy if your not in any hurry I think I may just have a rod and reel that is exactly what your looking for. The reason I say not in a hurry is that we are moving so things are packed up but things will be all in order in 2 weeks when we are in our new house. I know that I have a 2 piece rod. It was given too me by a friend as he no longer needed it and I only used it a couple of times and it has just been sitting doing nothing. It is a great little rod and reel and if you want it, it is all yours too have at no cost to you. All you would have to do is pick it up in Maple Ridge. I may even try to find it in the next couple of days but no promises.

Have you thought about a telescopic rod? amundson makes a few good ones, I have one that I love its 7'7 IM7 spinning got it for $50 at army and navy a while back. I think they have some that have a reel with it to right now over there, I dont think its the same one I have.
I have landed a few chum's on it so id say they are sturdy enough

wow such a prompt response! thx Geff. I am more than willing to drive out to Maple Ridge if you are willing to let the rod go. My first post on this forum and I am receiving such kindness, thx a lot!

Seeing as that I am actually looking to buy two ultralight rods in the beginning, if I have one taken care of, my budget issue for the second one is significantly better!

I have thought about telescopic rods, for some reason I have a mental image that an ultralight telescopic rod just sounds fragile imo. I am sure there are great ones out there, but the cost may be significantly more? If you were able to land a chum on your tele rod .... is it still an ultralight? Sound more like a Medium Heavy or even Heavy action rod?

may have been my misunderstanding in terms of ultralight.
I was thinking you may have broke other rods, and that different rods that didnt break had to much weight to them.
my galaxy mts is rated at 8-14pds and is medium fast action

I guess I should clarify what I am looking for:

A travel rod – around 4’6” to 5’6”, ultralight power(2-6lb line rating), fast action, for trouts and panfish.

Would prefer (more preferable to least preferable):
1) Multi-piece rod – breaks down 1ft each
2) 2 piece – breaks down to 2 ft or so …
3) telescopic rod

when I said durable in my last post, I really meant that I want a rod that does what it promises, and doesn’t break in half when I am landing a 6 inch cutty properly, or something ridiculous, like it breaking in half when I am treading my mono line or something (what I read online).

I realize that a rod like this wont take much abuse, nor do I want it to. I will not be landing anything big on this, just a fun small rod for local lakes and back packing.

I have an eagle claw backpack spin/fly combo that a friend gave me.  It is certainly not the best of the best but it has served me well.

The neat thing is the butt section flips around so you can turn it into a flyrod but I just use it as a packable spin caster.

It is plenty strong as well.  Have caught pinks and coho with it.

Good warranty on both. I fish a lot of Amundson rods. Good value for the money. I hear great things about the Shimano Exage rod though. I'm using a 7' Shimano Voltaeus for all My Coho spoon and spinner chucking. I love it. Light and sensitive and really strong. Brought in a few chum at the Stave with it...all on 8lb test. I can't find any specs on the Exage but most shop should have them. Last time I was in Riverside they had a few.

I just got an IM6 ultralight 2 piece rod, one 4'6 and another 6'6 for about $12 each. Caught some trout on it at Rice, nice looking rod, seems sturdy, decent sized guides. I also bought their graphite composite med-light telescopic rod ($14). Very handy rod. This is my second one. First one busted when I tried to land a 12 lb (..ish) coho on a pile of steep rocks. I reeled it in, but it busted as I was trying to untangle the fish, get the hook out, and the fish spazzed. I'd say it's more user error than anything.

I had an Eagle Claw telescopic. It's a heavier fiberglass rod. Sturdy but it comes in a medium action with smaller guides. It's got some backbone. Busted the first one trying to pull the line out of a snag from the tip when the rod was flexed. Again user error. The second one I got at Dave's in Lynden turns out to be a spincast/level wind telescopic (has a trigger anyway). It's 5'6 and about $15. If I was going on an extended backpacking trip and couldn't afford to break my rod, I'd be tempted to bring the Eagle Claw as  it's pretty solid.

I hear ya about backpacking and fishing. Telescopic is the way to go for convenience, though it's too bad they don't make an UL telescopic. The Cabela's med-light is the closest I've been able to find.

Finally found the rod, it is a light action Quantum 2 piece rod. It is a 6'6" 1/32-1/4 oz Lure weight with a 4-8lbs line rating. I will also have a couple of light reels for you to choose from to go with this rod. Soi t is all your if you want it.
