Chilliwack River, July 4th 2012
« on: July 05, 2012, 09:09:54 AM »

I know there was hardly a chance to catch a fish but it was my first day of rest from work and also the first projected nice day this summer it seems, so me and a friend made plans to hit up the river, and what can i say but what an awesome day.
We spent about 6 hours starting at the top then moving down bushwacking into this trail and that trail looking for a spot of decent water to fish. The water was so high and fast the spots were VERY limited but alas we finally found a nice a quiet spot in the lower section where we hunkered down, had some lunch and a beverage and got in some fishing.
We didnt get a bite, see a fish, or see anyone else fishing but what a gorgeous day. Sunshine was beating down on me, water was very clear, perhaps 2 foot clarity, so peaceful. Had to take off the sweater and get out the sunglasses. Perhaps the river needs another week or two to come down a bit, but we were ok with that.
Cheers.

Nice report !!! It's not always about the getting but more about the feeling of the experience. Sounds like you had an awesome time
out. My younger brother was out that same day with a friend and they had the same kind of day. High water, great vis, beautifully sunny day and hiked for hours, never had a bite nor saw a fish.

But he said it was one of the best trips he's been on in ages. Very enjoyable. Thank You for the report Jacked55 !!!!

I went cat skiing this past winter and was having the best morning ever then I heard one guy say "There's too many people, this sucks."  It was a bit of a bummer.
Nice to hear you guys are enjoying life.  Totally sucks you didn't get nothin' though!! ;D
