Harrison River, October 6th 2012
« on: October 06, 2012, 09:05:46 PM »

After the vedder floss out decided to take the boat out to the Harrison,It did not look to promising on the way there as the wind was rather brisk! Got onto the water at 10 AM and headed down to the mouth only to find rather  busy and with the wind it was hard to find a spot to anchor without the wind wreaking havoc.Tried for a  bit saw a ton of fish rising but no takers :-\ We  headed up river only to find it lined with damn flossers, why oh why do people have to floss chums ??? So we moved up farther and found a spot near the old cemetary and started fishing.Managed a few cutthroat but nothing else,so we moved back down to mid river.tried several jigs until i found the color that worked ,black and pink ;D Hooked into some big chums after a few of thoses my arms packed it in so i switched over to the flyrod and managed a few cutts and 4 whitefish. The day ended with buddy landing a nice 18" bull.

i was one of the boats at the mouth, i would say a ton of fish is a bit of an overstatement, but they was fish showing,  they were not in the mood to bite and they where coming up in the deeper water, after 3 hours from 7-10am we managed a few fish between the 4 or us. I was not tring for coho, the people i was with just wanted to catch fish, so chum was the targeted fish that day, with pink purple jigs,  but there was boats casting spinners, and spoons, but i did not see any coho get caught, but i was also down by the rock, so not the best coho water the current is a bit faster.  i wanted to try up river, but did not get a chance,  so thanks for the info on the upper river.
all fish were big chum males,  but to far and few for me to get too excited..
