To keep or not to keep

What visual clues do you use to determine whether or not to keep a chum for the smoker.? The search engine
yielded a lot of off topic entries.

White belly, sea lice, little to no faint strips on side, firm feelling to the fish.

Not if they're from the Squamish!!!  Mind you, there has not been a retention there for some time.  Hopefully the run will be good this year.  I've got some flies tied up and ready to go!   ;)

white belly, sea lice, chrome appearing -- still will probably show some coloration but the scales will still all be mostly intact and it will appear chrome or shiny in good lighting...haven't kept many chum but have kept one or two in this condition turned out just fine for table fare. Black belly = stay away
